The FTIR spectrometer, manufactured by Thermo Scientific, model Nicolet iS10, belongs to high-performance devices. Its basic configuration is designed to work in the mid-infrared region (range 4000-400 1/cm). In addition to analyzing solid and liquid samples in transmission mode, this device records the infrared spectra of powders, gels, and thin film samples in the reflection mode, the so-called Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR). The ATR sampling technique is fast, non-destructive and does not require sample preparation.
