With the objective of establishing scientific collaboration in the field of materials science, Faculdades Católicas, sponsor of Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro ( PUC-Rio) and the Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ITS SASA) signed Cultural, Education and Scientific Agreement late in June 2008.
The areas of cooperation covered by this Agreement include knowledge transfer and research considered to be of mutual interest and expected to contribute to the development and expanding of joint activities between the PUC-RIO and ITS SASA. Particular attention will be paid to activities related to the collaboration between lecturers and researchers, promotion of scientific events, orientation and co-orientation of dissertations and theses for Master and/or Doctoral degrees and the exchange of bibliographic materials.
Both institutions encourage scientific collaboration in the field of materials science, especially from the viewpoint of fundamental investigation of nanoscaled particles with controlled structural and morphological properties. Particular benefits of this collaboration will be scientific, in terms of better understanding the mechanisms of nanoscaled particle formation, as well as technical, in terms of novel technologies and development of advanced materials.
