Prof. Dr. Nenad L. Ignjatović was born on October 12, 1967 in Smederevska Palanka, Serbia. He graduated from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade in 1994, and completed his M.Sc. studies at the same Faculty in 1996 with the thesis titled Study of the conditions to produce adhesives from soy flour. In 2001, he took his Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy with the thesis Synthesis and Designing of the Structure and Properties of Hydroxyapatite-Polylactide Composite Biomaterial. He was elected a Research Associate in 2002 and a Senior Research Associate in 2005. Nenad L. Ignjatović holds the position of Professor at the Medical School of the University of Niš since 2007. Dr. Ignjatović was elected Principal Research Fellow in 2010.
Fields of interest: synthesis, characterization and application of biomaterials for bone tissue reconstruction; multifunctional drug delivery systems with target effect, new nanobiomaterials, growth factors.
Nenad l. Ignjatović has been the President of the Organizing Committee of the Young Researchers' Seminar/Conference since 2002. He is also a member of the Presidency of the Materials Research Society of Serbia, Physicochemical Society of Serbia and the Serbian Inventors and Inovators Society. He is a Board member of the Serbian Chemical Society - Ceramics Section. Since 2012, he is a corresponding member of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Tehnika – Novi materijali (Technique – New Materials) and Journal of Applied Chemistry
