Ilija Batas Bjelic finished primary school in Donji Milanovac in 1997. and secondary electrotehnical school "Nikola Tesla" in Belgrade in 2001. He graduated at University of Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering at Automation department with the topic of the realization of the microcontroler based spectrometer device in 2008. and in 2016. he has been promoted into PhD with the dissertation title "Simulation-based optimization of sustainable energy systems". From the 2011. to 2018. he has been employed at University of University of Belgrade School of Electrical Engineering as researcher, from 2012. as research assistant and from 2017. as research associate.

He started working at the Institute of Technical Sciences of SASA in 2018.

Research interest: energy planning, smart energy systems and networks, optimization
