The Institute is the forming initiator and the hinge of the Yugoslav Materials Research Society (www.mrs-serbia.org.rs) that gathers the most eminent researchers and institutions in the field of materials science and engineering in the country and that organized, until now, nine Conferences (in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007). The Tenth YUCOMAT 2007 Conference will be held on September 8-12th 2008 in Herceg Novi and its organization is well on the way.

From 2002, every December the same organizers organize The Seminar of Young Researchers – Materials Science, where young researchers from all over the country, who work on their masters and doctoral theses, present their papers on advanced materials and technologies. This seminar gives young researchers the opportunity to get acquainted, learn more about contemporary research of their colleagues and experimental methods and possibilities available to their colleagues and our scientific community generally. Selected presented papers are published in the journal Technique-New Materials.
Beside the books of abstracts and the proceedings of these conferences and seminars, Institute of the Technical Sciences of SASA from time to time publishes the books of its associates and other renown authors in the field of technical, technological and natural sciences.
Associates of the Institute are also engaged as editors and reviewers of many international and domestic journals.
